It’s hard to know where to start, but I I know that all that I do comes from my love of nature and working with my hands. I first started playing with living willow structures 27 years ago, gradually exploring and being drawn into working with this extraordinary tree more and more deeply.
I have created animal sculptures for around 20 years, and finally I began my journey learning the incredible skill of basketry 18 years ago.
I lived at the Lammas Ecovillage from 2009 – 2021 where I further developed my knowledge and business to include planting and managing a large willow coppice.
Now living by the sea in beautiful Carmarthenshire, I continue to create and teach, spreading my love of this fabulous and ancient craft.
I have always been one to just jump in feet first, and I started teaching about willlow as a craft almost as soon as I learned what to do myself. So my teaching experience now spans 2 decades, and I have worked with a wide range of people including developing projects with schools, and running workshops for people with learning disabilities, autistic people, people who are deaf, people with mental health problems, and people with dementia. My teaching style aims to empower the innate creativity in every individual, engaging both the hands and the mind. I am happy to discuss teaching your group, just get in touch.
